Movie Time

December 30, 2008

I have been laying around for the better part of three weeks now and I am beginning to wonder if I am a sloth. I just checked the blog and have been reading some of Kelly’s posts. I saw the one where she said I had watch 5 movies and that is an old statistic. I have now watched more than 15 in almost as many days. I am actually surprised that the count is not higher than that because I watch like two a day.  Curtis dropped of this big box of all his movies and then we also joined the rest of America by signing up for Netflix. Movies I have watched include but are not limited to:

Wyatt Earp – Had never seen it, not as good as Tombstone

Pirates of the Caribbean (The Curse of the Black Pearl) – Still good

Analyze This- I saw this a long time ago and it is pretty funny

You’ve Got Mail- What can I say I am a sucker for a romedy.

My Cousin Vinny – I remember watching this movie , probably fifteen or more years ago (i think on a family beach vacation) and my uncle Dewey and Aunts dieing laughing.

The Bourne Supremacy

Last of the Mohicans – I like this movie. Pretty sad to me.

The Boondock Saints – Violent and the “f” word but still pretty good. I think I saw it for the first time with Greg Hook down east in NC where he was working. I think it was a double feature with Jeremiah Johnson.

Bull Durham – I had never seen this and it was a little flavor of home.

Six Days, Seven Nights – Don’t ask me, I am easily entertained.

Sex and the City: The Movie – Kelly’s pick from Netflix but not bad at all.

I know that is only 11 so maybe I am not a sloth.

Is Paulson Slugworth???

December 30, 2008

So as I am at home recovering I have a lot of time on my hands and not a ton of things that I can do, only putting weight on one leg. So I watch a lot of movies and spend a decent amount of time, that I should be spending looking for a job for Dec. ‘09 (let me know if you know any body that needs somebody), fiddling on the internet.

So today I was reading an article that Kelly forwarded me and I realized that Henry Paulson might in fact be Arthur Slugworth. And now many of you are asking yourself, “Self, who is Arthur Slugworth?” So to save you the time of googling it I will tell you. Arthur Slugworth is the bad guy in Willie Wonka and The Chocolate Factory and he surprisingly looks a lot like Paulson. Pictures below, you judge for yourself.

Surgery!

December 9, 2008

I dropped Evan off for ACL surgery this morning at 6:30 a.m., and they’ll call him in for the operation at any minute, so if you see this and get a chance, send up a little prayer that everything goes smoothly!

Wednesday Brief

December 3, 2008

I can’t believe it’s already December!  We had a fabulous Thanksgiving with the Travis family, and now we’re back in town for Evan’s last week of school this semester.  Hard to believe he’s got a whole semester behind him… only 2 more to go!  We’re celebrating the end of school, and his last days of freedom before he has ACL surgery on Dec. 9th, by fixing up our 2nd upstairs bathroom this weekend.  I’m so excited… it’s at least twice as big as the other room, so it will be really nice to move in there!  (The first was renovated in July, click here for pics.)  We started some demo last night and some before pics are below!

In other news, I am thoroughly enjoying the Tarheels undefeated season so far, but it is a small bummer to be in Knoxville where no one else cares!  There is one other guy at work that went to UNC undergrad in the 70’s.  I asked him how excited he was about this season, only to find out he’s a DOOK fan!!??  What??  Fortunately, we have the Chesneys to help up make up a small, but extrememly loyal UNC fan base in Knoxville.
