we have been cutting our own christmas tree for a couple of years now, and this year was extra special. we spent our first thanksgiving at the travis mountain house, which has been in process for the last year or so. it was a great first holiday in the mountains, and set us up perfectly for hunting out a choose-n-cut location close to the house. evan and i led the caravan to find a tree farm, with almost no guidance, but we sure lucked out because only 15 mins down the road was a perfect frasier fir farm, with reasonable prices, a stellar tree selection, a hay ride and free hot chocolate and marshmallows! (who knew this was spelled marshmAllow?? not this girl, unil i was corrected by spell check!) a couple of pictures from the adventure follow.
